For Maria, creativity is about a sense of individualism. It’s about having a unique idea and building on a concept or thought. It challenges her to think differently and embrace new territory. In Hairdressing, it is creativity that constantly compels Maria, her driving force to achieve the very best that she can. As a Hairdresser, Salon Owner, Mentor, Make-Up Artist and a Session
Stylist, she is constantly looking to create ‘stand out’ work that is distinctly unique and has a genuine story to tell.
As an educator, Maria has an extremely commercial approach. Having managed her own salon from the age of 22, she looks to communicate a strong sense of fluidity between education and commercial reality. Maria understands first hand, how education can benefit the interdependent growth and development of both an individual, and a salon business.
Maria was a pioneer of making the small business owner socially mobile and continues to maintain powerful digital platforms that both inspire and instigate client interest in her personal brand and in her salon.
With a vivacious spirit and inimitable sense of courage Maria is a true ambassador for the hairdressing industry.
Maria is Owner/Director of Salon Kiin. A salon she opened in June, 2016 as a sequel to s.81 Hair. Founded in 1981, and now nestled in the heart of Penrith, Salon Kiin is a space to unwind, to inspire and connect.
She is wife to John and Mum to Andre; 2 years old.
